Two little girls arrived to the shelter, so shaky and scared, without a microchip, but surprisingly in a very good physical condition, we were surprised! Usually when we receive Podenco type of dogs, they normally arrive in bad conditions, starved etc, but Kamille & Petunia were fine physically. After the first shock, they very quickly started to trust the staff and volunteers, greeting them sommersaults, with their tails falling off from wiggling so happy and fast, when they see people they like, approaching them.
First we thought maybe they are sisters, but the veterinary says that according to the teeth, Petunia seems to be a year older than Kamille, so maybe mother & daughter, but we believe they are related. They are very affectionate with each other, care for one another, however Petunia is also happily living together with other dogs, now that Kamille has been adopted.
Petunia would also potentially be happy as a single dog of a home, as she is in fact quite courageous, comes up to humans to say hello and to ask for snacks too! She can also be independant, but of course loves to be around you. She also likes to go on solo-walks without her other dog friends, and is very happy to have all the attention of the humans to herself.
During her day out of the shelter, she was ready to explore everything, and showed that she is really a wonderful girl, full of love. She is not afraid of bicycles, scooters, runners or anything else. She crosses the pedastrian zebra without issues, and is very interested in dogs and people. She is adorable, happy, friendly and social.
She is afraid to get into the car, but settles in after a while.
Petunia loves to eat! Fresh meat meals and natural snacks are her favourite, and if you don't give it to her, she will make sure you know what she wants, by going for self-service in your pocket! Once she is in the dog park, she is so happy and alive, jumping like little deer between the bushes, looking for mice and bugs, like normal Podencos.
Petunia could potentially also be happy as a single dog in a quiet, calm area, and she also loves children, especially educated and calm ones.
Petunia is 46cm in shoulder height.
